I Was Diagnosed With Stage 2 Breast Cancer In 2019 After I Hit My Breast Against A Hard Surface Which Led To Injuries On My Breast. After My Diagnosis, I Was Placed On 6 Rounds Of Chemotherapy And Then Went On To Take An Additional 2o Rounds Of Chemotherapy Because I Had To Repeat Some Of My Treatment As A Result Of Treatment Delays While Looking For Funds In 2021, I Needed To Have Radiotherapy To Complete My Treatment And This Cost N970,000. I Was Able To Raise N500,000 And Needed N470,000 To Complete My Treatment. I Reached Out To The Foundation For Cancer Care For Help Through Luth Cancer Center Who Graciously Helped To Pay The Balance. I Am Really Grateful To Foundation For Cancer Care And Their Donors Who Made It Possible To Receive Funding For My Treatment. I Would Like To Encourage Women Who Are Within Screening Age To Take Their Annual Breast Cancer Screening Seriously. Early Detection And Saves Lives.

Mrs Afusat Adeleye

My Name Is Mukaila Adesokan, I Have Four Children And I Am A Trader. I Was Diagnosed With Cancer Of The Neck And Throat In 2020 During The Covid Pandemic In Ghana. I Was Told That I Would Undergo Surgery And This Would Affect My Vocal Abilities Then I Decided To Come Back To Nigeria To Seek Treatment. I Went To UCH Ibadan And Was Referred To Luth Cancer Center To Undergo Radiotherapy And Needed Over 1.2 Million Naira, But I Could Only Raise N180,000 Because I Had Expended So Much In Ghana And This Affected My Business. I Pleaded For Help At Luth Nsia And Was Directed To The Foundation For Cancer Where The Rest Of My Bill For Radiotherapy Was Settled. I Am Grateful To The Foundation For Their Help And I Pray That God Will Continue To Bless Them And Everyone Who Supports Them In Fundraising. I Would Also Like To Encourage All The Donors Of The Foundation To Continue Because Their Funds Go A Long Way To Help Those Who Lack Finances.

Mr. Mukaila Adesokan

I was diagnosed with cancer in 2021. After some tests, I was asked to pay the sum of N1 million for radiotherapy. I was confused because I didn’t know how to raise that kind of money. A doctor at LUTH, where I was diagnosed, reached out to the Foundation for Cancer on my behalf and they helped me with the sum of N460,000. My children were able to raise the balance. I am really grateful for that kind gesture.
